MADRA August 2022 News

MADRA AGM on Tuesday 16 August

We look forward to seeing MADRA members at our AGM at the Golf Club on Tuesday 16 August at 7.00pm.

Please come along to receive the Association’s Financial and Annual Reports and help elect MADRA’s third committee. The AGM documents including 2021 Minutes and the Agenda, nomination form and proxy form are available to download from our website

Light refreshments will be available after the meeting. We hope to see you there!

Mallacoota Airport follow-up

MADRA continues to investigate why the ability to use the airport changed recently – mainly the loss of instrument navigation facilities. We are pursuing meetings with EGSC and our local Members of Parliament and hope to be able to provide further information shortly.

New-look MADRA website

Our new website is up and running; it still has the same website address: madrecovery.com

We think the MADRA website could be useful to other groups looking at community-led recovery after a natural disaster, so we are putting a collection of resources together that are available to everybody. We’d love to hear your feedback on the site and ideas on extra content we could add.

Home Energy Efficiency Course

The Gippsland Community Power Hub is holding Home Energy Efficiency Course on Thursday 18 August. Many of us live in residences where, apart from large changes, small, inexpensive energy efficiency improvements would be desirable and possible.

This is an opportunity to explore the options with an expert in the field as well as our neighbours. The workshop is open to everyone in Mallacoota and District - call Tricia Hiley on 0412 312 881 to book.

The cost is $25 per person and lunch and refreshments are included.
