Great job opportunity - work alongside MADRA!
The Shire is advertising a 6-month recovery role to undertake project support for community-led bushfire recovery projects. The role is to be based in the far east (Cann River / Mallacoota districts) and will work closely with the CRCs. This will include working closely with MADRA here in Mallacoota.
This is a part time, limited tenure position based in the eastern communities of the region, working 22.8 hours per week, until 30 June 2025.
As a Bushfire Recovery Project Support Officer, you’ll help deliver community-driven projects to aid bushfire recovery. From engaging with local committees to managing administrative tasks, your work will make a direct impact on recovery efforts in the Eastern districts. Social housing update
MADRA is thrilled to see further progress being made in the building of 10 social and affordable dwellings in Mallacoota. Those wishing to be considered for a social housing option must sign up with the Victorian Housing Register run by Homes Victoria. For assistance with their online services, you can call the help desk on 1800 961 883 (9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday). In addition, MDHSS receives some funding as the local agent for Homes Vic/DFFH and should be able to assist you with registering or checking on these details.

An update and survey about the proposed reconstruction of the Pittosporum Walk and the Devlins Walk in Mallacoota is available on YourSay, and feedback on the draft plan is welcomed. Please share what you like about the design, as well as any concerns or suggestions you may have; your feedback is vital in ensuring outcomes meet community expectations.
